There is. Drawing that conclusion from your test is the same as flipping a coin 10 times, getting seven heads, then saying coins are more likely to come up heads. It's a basic principle of statistics.

Edit: Seef beat me to it.

I went to test it because somebody asked such a question.

Surprisingly, the lower requirement weapons seem to deal with higher average damage.

By the way, it's difficult to test a no requirement weapon since I cannot find a 15-22+15%^50 sword with 0 requirement. I will keep testing the two swords I mentioned and see if it is only by chance or it does make a difference.

There isn't. If you think what I said is wrong, then you can simply go to enjoy a high requirement weapon without even think about what I've presumed and observed. Req 13 and Req 7 are the same if you have enough attributes. Then why bother to judge my test?

If you do have doubts (you don't appear to), then you may want to test it by yourself and see.

I don't care much since I'm an old player (since Apr 2005) and I get used to using lower requirement weapons only (since we have bonus before). Maybe it is a paradigm or simply a personal preference.

I quitted the game for 7 months and I'm figuring out the current game build and strategies.
What worked best for me 7 months ago don't seem the same now.

The question is, if a dropped max weapon whose requirements you don't meet does half damage (for a bow, 7.5-14 rather than 15-28), then what does a weapon below half damage do when you don't meet its requirement? I'm thinking starter damage, like what collector, crafter, green, and PvP weapons do, but the damage I'm doing is so low already I can't really get an accurate number. There also is a lack of always-crit attacks, like Wild Blow, for bows.

Er, not exactly. Strength works with both Energy- and Adrenaline-based skills, but only triggers when using attack skills. The problem with Strength is that any +damage from an attack skill already ignores armor, so the AP bonus only applies to base damage. For example, say you were using a plain white 6-28 Axe with 12 AM and using Eviscerate which does +34 damage. If you were hitting for max damage at 28 + 34 from Eviscerate, only the 28 base damage gets AP. The +34 isn't reduced by the armor at all, so having more AP doesn't help it. 1% more AP is about 1% more base weapon damage using skills, whereas +1 Weapon attribute is about 3% more base weapon damage all the time plus about 6% more skill damage. So you only get a minor boost in damage when you're already doing a good chunk of damage; not too impressive.

I have no idea what T Waters is talking about. All I'm seeing is what tafy69 is saying.

Plus I didn't know Tombs players had bad spelling. Thanks for that information.
